Renewal Of Dr. Edington’s Contract To Be Considered By Board
SYRACUSE — During the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, of the school board for the Wawasee Community School Corp., among the agenda items will be consideration of the renewal of the contract for Dr. Tom Edington, superintendent.
Indiana Code requires at least a seven day notice before a contract is entered into by a governing body and a school superintendent. Also required is a public meeting for consideration of the contract.
The proposed contract would be for a term of three years, from July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018. Base salary is proposed for $117,931 per year for a work year based on 260 days.
In addition, the contract would include four personal leave days, 20 personal vacation days, six personal business days and 12 sick days allowed per year of service, cumulative without limit. An additional $4,130.26 per year would be provided for family medical insurance. Dental, vision and long term disability insurance would be provided at the cost of $1 per year per coverage under a corporation policy. Also at a cost of $1 per year would be a $100,000 term life insurance policy.
Also included in the contract would be an annual deposit of $2,500 into a 403(b) plan account and the school corporation shall pay the 3 percent administrator contribution to the Indiana State Teacher Retirement Fund. An annual cellphone allowance of $960 would be provided as would an annual vehicle allowance of $8,400.
