Teen Charged In Handgun Theft
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Police have arrested Cody Lindemeyer, 19, Plymouth, on a charge of the theft of a handgun.
According to Plymouth Police Department Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus, the department received a report on Sept. 8, regarding the theft of a handgun from a residence in that city. The handgun was listed in the national data base as stolen.
The South Bend Police Department, on Sept. 11, had received reports of shots fired in South Bend and two individuals were arrested after pursuing a stolen moped they were riding. The stolen gun was recovered at that time and the information was relayed to the Plymouth Police.
Mangus investigated the matter further and learned that Lindemeyer had sold the gun to one of the individuals arrested in South Bend. Lindemeyer was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Lindemeyer is being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
