Elkhart Man Arrested Near Pierceton

PIERCETON — Kosciusko County officers arrested an Elkhart man today, Wednesday, Sept. 23, shortly before noon, on multiple charges after receiving anonymous information on the TIP line.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers, along with Ligonier Police officers, obtained information this morning related to a possible stolen vehicle located east of Pierceton. Officers arrived and confirmed that the vehicle was, in fact, at the Regency Estates Mobile Home Park, Pierceton.
Shortly afterwards, the suspect, identified as Matthew John Milton, 29, Elkhart, returned to the vehicle where he was subsequently taken into custody without incident. During the apprehension, deputies uncovered a one-pot method methamphetamine lab, precursors for meth production, finished methamphetamine, as well as a handgun.
Milton was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and preliminarily charged with felony dealing in methamphetamine with a firearm, theft and possession of marijuana. He is currently being held on a $20,250 bond, along with a hold by the Ligonier Police Department as correlated to the stolen vehicle.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was assisted in the investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Ligonier Police Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
