Roller Dolls Continue Grip On South Shore
WARSAW – Taking the lead after just three jams, the Lake City Roller Dolls continued its vice grip on South Shore on the roller derby track. The Dolls maintained control with a solid 242-132 win Saturday night at the Doll House.
Three weeks ago, Lake City visited Hammond for a matchup with the B-Team “Derailers” and crushed the team by almost 220 points. Much was the same Saturday as the Dolls held a 139-60 lead on the South Shore A-Team “Wonder Women” at the half and kept nearly the same pace in the second half.
MVP Jammer for the Dolls in the bout was Legs ForDays and MVP Blocker was Maddie Warbucks.
The Power Play for the bout had funds donated to Real Services, which will assist with heating costs for needing people in the community this winter.
The win for the Dolls moves the club to 4-3 on the season with one more bout to go. The Oct. 24 bout at the Doll House against Kokomo City of Fists will be the “Cancer Sucks” event, with proceeds going to the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
Halftime entertainment was provided by the K-County Junior Roller Derby.
