Triton Hammered By LaVille
BOURBON – The last time these two teams played, LaVille ended Triton’s season. Friday night, LaVille ended Triton’s modest win streak in a 56-0 whipping in high school football.
The Class 1-A Bo. 7 Lancers, which bounced Triton from the sectional last season, had no problems taking command of the matchup of 1-0 teams. LaVille completely owned the offensive categories, rushing for 323 yards and compiling 410 total yards while Triton managed just 78 total yards on the night.
Ethan Kertai scored on three runs, going for three, seven and 65 yards. Kertai rushed for 147 yards on the night. Mason Leed added a 27-yard touchdown run and also hauled in a 34-yard scoring pass.
Triton, which managed only 33 plays in the entire game, couldn’t get anything going. Jeremy Jones was held to just 24 yards on 14 carries and Jordan Anderson completed three passes, but only for 10 yards. Anderson rushed for 32 yards on six carries.
Triton (1-1) will have its hands full next week when it travels next Friday to Pioneer, the defending Class 1-A state runner-up. Pioneer, now 2-0, has outscored its two opponents 87-0 in its first two games this season including its 37-0 win at Winamac tonight. LaVille (2-0) will host Knox next Friday.
