UPDATE: ‘Hot’ Backpack Found In Alley

MILFORD — Indiana State Police in conjunction with Milford police have cleaned up the meth trash located in the area of Henry Street, Milford.
The items were located by a pastor at the Christian Church of Milford and called in to Milford police.
According to ISP Trooper Andy Cochran, the contents of the bag included a chemical acid that burns skin on contact. The acid was wrapped in two plastic bags and put inside a small cooler within the bag. Officers also located “meth trash” including plastic bags, pliers and even a makeup compact.
Cochran disposed of the acid and small vinyl cooler in a bucket for safe transport, and bagged up the rest of the items. These items will be used as evidence and then disposed of with a private hazmat company.
ISP and Milford police continue to investigate the incident.
MILFORD — Milford Police have contacted the Indiana State Police Meth Lab team to assist with a backpack found in the alley behind the Christian Church of Milford, Henry Street.
According to information received the backpack contains possible meth trash. An individual did touch the backpack and received a burning sensation/skin irritation, but was not injured.
It is suggested that individuals avoid that area.
