Margaret Jackson
Margaret Jackson, 88, of South Bend, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
She was born on July 29, 1927, in Williamson, W. Va., a daughter of Alex and Lucy Hester (Lions) Robinette. On May 14, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, she was united in marriage to Stuart L. Jackson. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage until his passing on May 29, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Stuart Randy Jackson, on April 3, 1999; and William Scott Jackson, on Jan. 31, 2004; grandson: Darren Jackson; three sisters: Irene Littleton; Cora Gibson; Bonnie Minnix; and two brothers: Hatfield Robinette; and Kenny Patterson.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter: Ginger Carol Bryan, Ossian; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Beth Denney, New Haven; and Virginia McCoy, Fla.; and Frances Blackburn, Pompano Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece: Judy Farver, Plymouth.
Margaret lived in West Virginia until she was 16 years old, and then lived in Dayton, Ohio, for eight years, at which time she moved to Indiana in 1948. She retired from the Uniroyal Corp. following 27 years of service as an Accountant. She was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church for 44 years, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women and served as District Treasurer for two years, and she helped with many funeral dinners. She was a member of the Uniroyal Ladies Club, and enjoyed going to the Health and Lifestyle Center where she exercised three times a week. She loved flowers and doing yard work. Most of all, she dearly loved her family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Grace United Methodist Church, South Bend. Rev. David Schrader will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.
