Richmond Wadkins
Richmond Wadkins, 68, of Silver Lake, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at his residence.
Richmond was born on Oct. 1, 1946, in Floyd County, Ky., to Nero Wadkins and Minerva (Robinson) Wadkins. He was married to Bobby (Perkins) Wadkins, who survives in Silver Lake.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years at Zimmer, Inc. of Warsaw. He had lived in Ocala, Fla., for four years after retiring, and while there he was a member of the Ocala VFW and the Bellview American Legion. He was an EMT for South Central EMS in Silver Lake, for 15 years.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1974, and served two tours in Vietnam in 1965 then again in 1969.
In addition to his wife, Richmond also leaves behind four brothers: Bill (Mary) Wadkins, Silver Lake; Lon (Brenda) Wadkins, Disco; Loyd (Kathy) Wadkins Silver Lake; Johnny (Janet) Wadkins, Talma; and his sister: Joyce (Jerry) Hoskins, Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Oaks.
His memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Paul Coplen.
