Albertis ‘Albert’ L. Sherow
Albertis “Albert” L. Sherow, 76, Warsaw, died Tuesday evening Aug. 18, 2015, at IU Health Goshen Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1937, in Plymouth, to Aldora Albertis Sherow and Anna (Fetters) Sherow. Albert had lived in Warsaw, for the last 11 years, having lived in Richland Center before that.
On Sept. 12, 1958, he married June Wilson. June preceded him on Feb. 9, 2004. He then married Shirley Hibshman on Dec. 17, 2004, and together they shared the last 10 years with each other.
Albert had worked from 1996 for Kabelin Ace Hardware Plymouth and Walkerton, and had just recently retired on Aug. 2, 2015. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from Feb. 16, 1957, to Aug. 15, 1957, and was transferred to the United States Army Reserve Indiana Military District and served till Nov. 25, 1964.
Albert is survived by his wife: Shirley Sherow, Warsaw; daughter: Judith L. (Donald) Wallace, Rochester; sons: Roger L. (Edwina) Sherow, Waterloo, Ala.; Albert L. (Camille) Sherow, Warsaw; Rick L. (Stacy) Sherow, Etna Green; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Brenda (Dave) Snyder, Goshen; John Whitmyer, Elkhart; Tim (Sandy) Whitmyer, Jimtown; and Andy Whitmyer, Edwardsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: June Sherow; sisters: Lucille Stump; Rose Elsworth; brothers: Danny Sherow; and Roscoe Sherow.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Earl Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home, with Rev. Steve Patrick of the House of the Lord Church, Plymouth. Burial will follow at the Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
