2016 Budget Discussed At Etna Green Council Meeting
ETNA GREEN — It was a short town council meeting in Etna Green at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17. The 15-minute meeting, originally scheduled for Aug. 12, covered the 2016 budget, a burnt down trailer, a caved-in wall and a new website.
The 2016 budget was read and approved. An adoption hearing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13. The 2015 budget was approved to be reduced in order to fund the 2016 budget as follows: MVH ($9,000), Park ($1,515), CCI ($2,390) and EDIT ($31,000).
The council directed that the clerk-treasurer send a letter to the owner of a trailer that was destroyed in a fire last year. The trailer is currently still in the trailer court, and the council would like it to be removed by Sept. 7.
Another letter was advised to be sent by the clerk-treasurer to the owner of a home that’s basement wall caved during a summer storm on July 18. The owner covered the area with plastic, and the council is asking what the owners plans are to have the wall restored.
Last on the agenda was the approval of hiring Technical Imprints to create a website for the town.
The next town council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Etna Green fire station.
