Construction Information On Mariners Drive
WARSAW — The Mariners Drive Rehabilitation project began today, Tuesday, Aug. 18. According to Andrew R. Schouten, project manager for Phend & Brown, Inc., Milford, project contractors, a schedule of activities has been released highlighting major activities. Schouten notes changing weather conditions and/or internal schedules changes may alter the dates. Traffic control signage and detour markings will be provided in advance of and during any closure.
According to Schouten, Mariners Drive will be closed to through traffic from Husky Trail to North Pointe Drive starting Thursday, Aug. 20. Mariners Drive will remain open to local traffic for the businesses and residences between Husky Trail and North Pointe Drive. Access for these affected businesses and residences will be from North Pointe Drive onto Mariners Drive.
The detour route will be Husky Trail to North Pointe Drive. Access will be maintained during construction for emergency vehicles at all times.
Thursday’s work will also see surface milling to remove existing asphalt on Mariners Drive and transition milling at intersections. Curb removal and concrete pavement removal will begin Friday, Aug. 21. Work will continue with the rehabilitation of the drive including pavement markings and sod until November when it will be reopened to traffic.
