SOUTH WHITLEY — At 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14, officials were notified of a possible shooting on Buckeye Street in South Whitley.

According to Whitley County Coroner Randy Dellinger, the body of a deceased male was located in the backyard of a residence. The deceased was identified as Adam Wade Porter, 29, South Whitley.

The cause of death was reported as a gunshot and the manner of death was deemed a homicide. Investigation is ongoing by Indiana State Police and local law enforcement.
