Grace Alice Rans Lewis
Grace Alice Rans Lewis, 90, of Mentone, passed at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at her home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1924, in Fulton County, to George and Agnes (Hendrickson) Rans. She married Nov. 25, 1945, in Mentone she married her WWII sweetheart Raymond L. Lewis who survives.
After graduating she was employed in the office of the Lake City Machine Shop of Mentone. Later she and her husband owned and operated Lewis Motors for 42 years. Moving to the Mentone area from Fulton County in 1938, she graduated from Mentone High School in 1942. Grace was the longest standing member of the First Baptist Church of Mentone. She was a charter member of the Jolly Janes Club.
Survivors include husband: Raymond Lewis, Mentone; son: Steve (Lenore) Lewis, Mentone; daughter: SHaron (Gary) Creviston, Xenia, Ohio; five grandchildren: Stephanie (Shawn) Collins, Etna Green; Gennifer (Troy) Eaton, Walnut Creek, Ohio; Carey (Melissa) Lewis, Mentone; Miranda (Mark) Motter, Worthington, Ohio; Rachel (Simon) Ibrahimy, Washington D.C.; eight great-grandchildren: Ryan Castle; Hallie Doberstein; Taylor and Kara Eaton; Tristyn and Kaitlyn Lewis; and Emily Grace and Samuel Motter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Fern Besson; and Deloris Enyeart; and brother: Howard Lee Rans.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, also at the funeral home, and officiated by Pastor Michael Wilhite and Pastor George Shoemaker. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
