Area Skiers Show Well At Regional Tourneys
SYRACUSE – Several area water skiers performed at a top level at a pair of tournaments. Skiers from both Cindonway Shores and Camelot lakes took part in the Indiana State Water Ski Championships and the Midwest Regional Water Ski Championships the past two weekends.
Four individuals won medals at the Midwest Regional Tournament. Skiers from 11 states competed in this tournament. Alexis and Julie Mishler of Camelot Lake competed in the Girls 1 division in slalom and tricks. Alexis won first place in slalom and first place overall. Julie was second in slalom, fourth in tricks and fourth overall. Steve Plummer and Don Bucher, skiers at Cindonway, also competed in Men’s 6 and Men’s 7 age divisions. Plummer placed fourth in Men’s 6 tricks while Bucher placed second in slalom, third in tricks, first in jumping and first overall.
Four young skiers competed in the Indiana State Tournament the week before the Regionals. Alexis Mishler won girls 1 slalom and Julie Mishler was second in girls 1 slalom. Tom Brunner was second in Grassroots Boys Slalom and Coltin Bucher was third in Grassroots Boys Slalom.
The two Mishler sisters and Don Bucher will be competing in the AWSA National Water Ski Championships next week in West Palm Beach, Fla.
