Jill L. Runkle
Jill L. Runkle, 56, Akron, passed at 3 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester.
She was born in Warsaw on May 18, 1959, to Roy A. and Maxine (Holderman) Haney, and married Phil Runkle. She was the Akron Town Clerk Treasurer for many years.
She graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1977. She was a board member as well as past president of the Akron Carnegie Library. She was also a member of the Fulton County Parks Dept. and the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, and playing the guitar. She was known as a daughter of Akron and was an active leader of the community.
Survivors include her sons: Tyson Runkle, Indianapolis; Cole Runkle, Indianapolis; sister: Penny S. (John Jr.) Ramsey, Akron; brother: Doug (close friend Christine Lozier) Haney, Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy A. and Maxine Haney.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, service, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Memorials can be made to Akron Carnegie Library or the ALS Foundation Gift Processing Center.
