UPDATE: Larry W. Sidwell, 53, Anderson, is in critical condition after his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a van at 2:13 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at SR 13 and CR 500E. Sidwell was airlifted from the scene by helicopter and transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, with severe head and internal injuries.

Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team members stated a preliminary investigation into the crash has determined Sidwell was traveling south on SR 13. A 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by Sarah A. Wood, 34, Warsaw, was northbound on SR 13 when she suddenly turned into the path of the motorcycle at the intersection. Wood was purportedly not injured in the crash.

Officers stated the crash is still under investigation.

The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team was assisted at the scene by members of the Pierceton Fire Department, Multi-Township EMS, Pierceton Police Department, Sidney Fire Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

PIERCETON — Pierceton First Responders and Multi-East Paramedics have been called to a motorcycle accident on SR 13 at CR 500E.

Motorist should avoid the area if possible. The operator of the motorcycle was flown from the scene by Lutheran Air Ambulance. The nature and severity of injuries are unknown.
