MILFORD — Gain insight into how to keep your farm prospering through the ups and downs. Be prepared for change. Be ready for what’s coming down the pipeline. Indiana-area growers are invited to TruHorizons’ first Precision Technology Day, titled The Resilient Farmer.

The event, being held Aug. 5, at trial plots near Milford, will focus on the growing importance of precision technology, nutrient management, grain marketing and more as farmers face dynamic markets and climate conditions. Rotating discussions will be held 2:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m.

Sessions include Managing Risk Today (grain marketing), Taking Out the Emotion (crop nutrient forecasting), What’s Coming Down the Pipeline (seed innovation), Capturing More Yield Potential (360 Yield Center), Make Every Seed Count (precision monitors, accurate data collection), The Strength in Soybeans (fertility and disease) and Local Compatibility (beneficial microbes in the soil).

Speakers and vendor displays will be provided by 3Bar Biologicals, 360 Yield Center, Cargill, Trupointe Cooperative, Progressive Crop Technology, Monsanto, BASF, WinField and Mosaic. Growers also will have an opportunity to take hybrid trial tours, win door prizes and gain exclusive event- day special pricing and discount opportunities. A keynote presentation by Leland Hartstack, TruHorizons general manager, and an open mic Q&A will be held at 5:30 p.m. TruHorizons, a joint venture of Trupointe Cooperative, Inc. and Cargill, Inc., began operations in March.

The agricultural company offers growers the products, services and resources needed from seed to harvest, such as soil sampling, nutrients, pest management, grain marketing, grain storage and more. A state-of- the-art agronomy facility is located in Milford, with grain elevators in Bremen and La Paz. A new 4.3-million bushel grain elevator is currently being built on the Milford site.

Precision Technology Day will be held at the TruHorizons’ trial plots located north of the intersection of SR 15 and CR 900N, Milford.
