Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:20 a.m. Monday, July 20, East CR 400N, west of EMS B4 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Earl F. Jacquay, 30, East CR 350S, Pierceton. Jacquay swerved his vehicle to miss a deer, hitting a pole. Damage up to $10,000.
10:33 p.m. Sunday, July 19, East CR 1250N, west of East Wawasee Drive, Syracuse. Andrew M. Rolland, 21, Florida Drive, Fort Wayne. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
7:16 p.m. Sunday, July 19, East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: Aliscia L. Skelton, 20, East George Street, North Webster. Skelton was backing from a drive way and did not see a parked vehicle registered to Angela M. Bartman, East Maple Grove, Syracuse. Damage up to $2,500.
5:10 p.m. Sunday, July 19, North Henry Street and West Fourth Street, Milford. Drivers: Ryan M. Price, 24, Briarwood Boulevard, Goshen, and Steven R. Allen, 58, North Shaffer Street, Milford. Price failed to see the Allen vehicle, hitting the passenger side of the vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:01 p.m. Sunday, July 19, West CR 300N and North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Kaitlyn M. Arford, 21, North Old SR 15, Leesburg. Arford lost control of her vehicle hitting a REMC pole. Damage up to $5,000.
3:29 a.m. Sunday, July 19, Oak Street, north of Country Club Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon W. Faubion, 21, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
3:22 p.m. Saturday, July 18, EMS T38 Lane, south of East CR 650N, North Webster. Driver: Brigette R. Watkins, 46, Norfolk Road, Valparaiso. Watkins was backing from her drive-way and backed into a parked vehicle, registered to E.B. Denlinger, Lake Drive, Elkhart, parked on the west side of EMS T38 Lane. Damage up to $2,500.
10:28 a.m. Friday, July 17, SR 15, north of Short Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: James E. McCleary, 71, Ford Lane, Warsaw; Silas N. Guy, 21, North CR 175E, Peru; and Heather M. Desenberg, 45, North CR 325E, Warsaw. McCleary’s vehicle struck the back of the Guy vehicle, which was pushed into the back of the Desenberg vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:08 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, North Huntington Street, north of West Boston Street, Syracuse. Drivers: John R. Manges, 31, North Main Street, New Paris, and Gretchen L. Liston, 39, Ems W30A1 Lane, North Webster. Manges’ vehicle struck the back of the Liston vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:11 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, Frontage Road, Warsaw. Driver: Lonnie A. Burns, 43, North CR 500E, Syracuse, and Stori H. Bright, 18, North CR 500E, Syracuse. Burns was cited for criminal recklessness; element of hazing; liability barred for good faith report or judicial participation; and failure to stop after an accident. Burns was parked legally when the unnamed driver of a vehicle also registered to Burns pulled in behind him so he could not back up and Bright pulled up next to the driver side door. Burns then backed into the other vehicle registered to him, and pulled forward, trying to run to leave when Bright pulled his vehicle closer causing Burns to hit the Bright vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
