Electrical components manufacturer Group Dekko, based in Garrett Indiana, is moving forward with a $1.2 million expansion in Noble county, creating more than two dozen jobs as part of a plan to install a new production line.

The Avilla town council awarded the company a 10 year tax abatement last week. At the beginning of July, Group Dekko acquired Wheelock Manufacturing Inc., an electronic component and assembly manufacturer based in Morocco.

The company has has a busy year so far, launching a Michigan office in January and opening a product showroom in Chicago in April. John May, chief executive officer, said Group Dekko is striving to position itself for future growth.

The manufacturer’s product line currently includes lighting, power delivery and harness components for the work space, architectural lighting, transportation, automotive, appliance and medical industries.

Group Dekko has a presence in DeKalb, Kosciusko, Newton and Noble counties in Indiana.
