Lisa R. Wilson
Lisa R. Wilson, age 57, of Columbia City, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor at Oak Pointe, Columbia City. She was born on May 2, 1958, in Chicago, Ill. and spent much of her childhood there.
Moving to Tennessee at 16 years old, Lisa would find a love for the Great Smoky Mountains and the Gatlinburg area; she loved to camp. She was known for her Pecan pies which she made from scratch, even making them from the nuts of tress on her own property while living in North Carolina. Though she lived many places across the United States, Lisa would eventually find herself at home in Northern Indiana, where her family too would move when her health began to fail.
Survivors include her children: Tim (Christa) Lee, Huntington; Michelle Lee, Kalamazoo, Mich.; and Lisa Lee, St. George, Utah; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City. Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus will be officiating with burial to follow. Memorial contributions given in Lisa’s memory may be directed toward her final expenses in care of DeMoney-Grimes. Arrangements trusted to DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home.
