Best Of Show, Champions At Home And Family Arts
WARSAW — The Home and Family Arts Building displays the work of county residents in such areas as sewing, foods, food preservation, crafts, fine arts, needlework, flowers, herbs and agriculture. These items are created, prepared or grown by residents in the county and entered each year as open class projects, showcasing the talents of residents of all ages.
The hundreds of entries are on display during the Kosciusko County Fair in the Home and Family Arts Building from noon to 9 p.m. daily. While visiting the building you can also see demonstrations on various topics. The demonstrations are held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. A silent auction of handmade items are also on display to place bids.
Categories and winners include:
Foods — Barbara Engle, best of show, cakes; Barbara Hart, decorated cakes; Darlene Lash, cookies; Kristy Mayer, yeast breads; Janice Balin, quick breads; Rebecca Tushing, pie; Charlie Bolt, children’s; Sandra Blanchard, candy; and Mary Beth Comdent, diabetic baking
Sewing — Sue Martin best of show; Lydia Hoover, Class 2, children’s wear; Sue Martin, Class 3, adults; Jackie Clase, Class 4, formal wear; Judy Clayton, Class 5, sewing for the home; and June Thomas, Class 6, accessories etc.
