New Mexico Kidnapping Suspect Caught At Indianapolis Bus Station
Indiana State Police confirmed yesterday that they apprehended a suspect in the kidnapping of a New Mexico teenager at a downtown Indianapolis bus station.
Police from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, had issued an Amber Alert for Andrea Lucero, 16. ISP received information that the teen and her abductor were on a Greyhound bus that would be stopping in Indianapolis.
Officers were able to apprehend Joe Medina, 37, at the bus station in connection to the kidnapping. Lucero was found unharmed. Medina is being held in the Marion County Jail awaiting extradition back to New Mexico to face charges.
ISP worked in conjunction with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Demartment, Rio Ranchero New Mexico Police Department, the FBI and Missouri State Police in the case.
