Flash Flood Warning In Effect In Kosciusko
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a flash flood warning for Kosciusko and surrounding counties. The warning is in effect until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14.
At 10:26 p.m. doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated multiple thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Area locations included in the flood warning include Warsaw, Winona Lake, Columbia City, Syracuse, South Whitley, Milford and North Webster.
Additional rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is possible in the warned area.
The NWS advised to move to higher ground immediately and act to protect your life. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Turn around, down’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
