Hero Party
SYRACUSE — Every person was a hero while pitching into the war effort during WWW with a Victory Garden. At 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, teens get a chance to cook some items from a garden. The meeting is the last of the series of weekly activities that young people have had an opportunity to join at the library this summer. A dessert of Dauntless Cake is included in the food and activities of the hour. Any young adult may drop in for the program. The YA Book Club resumes Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Children’s Department
The children’s department has a full week of activities. Alongside regular weekly highlights is Tuesday’s special, Professor Phlim Phlam. Everyone is invited to “Terrific Tuesday” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, where science meets positive values. Later in the day, readers have a sports day during children’s book club.
Children should get ready to build some muscles from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. At 2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, is “Thursday Tea Time” when villains invade the library and super heroes come to the rescue. No stranger to danger during the 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17 movie, where two kids and a dog search for a gold mine.
