Bob Samuel Rager
Bob Samuel Rager, 89, of North Manchester, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. He was born Jan. 11, 1926, on the family farm, near Disko, to Harry and Ethel Lee (White) Rager.
Bob was a 1944 Laketon High School graduate. He was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II in the 28th Armored Division. He was a right-of-way buyer for Buckeye Pipeline in Lima, Ohio, retiring after 45 years. He was a charter member of the Laketon American Legion. Bob was also a member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge in Wabash. He lived in Laketon from 1931-2004 when he moved to the family farm near Disko.
He is survived by his twin brother: Todd Sherman (Norma) Rager, Roann; longtime friend: Gene Hapner, North Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Willadean Ewing; Marcella Whitehurts; and Eunice Rager.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is the Laketon American Legion.
