Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:01 p.m. Thursday, July 2, South SR 25, west of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Brock A. Huber, 19, North CR 150E, Winamac. Huber fell asleep while driving causing his vehicle to go off the road and sideswiped a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
11:33 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, North SR 13, north of East CR 1120N, Syracuse. Drivers: Adam M. Hyde, 34, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool, and Timmy L. Smith, 68, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Hyde’s vehicle struck the back of the Smith vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, South Huntington Street, north of West Chicago Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Richard Hershberger, 67, North Maple Street, Syracuse, and Matthew L. Lehman, 24, CR 33, Syracuse. Hershberger failed to see the Lehman vehicle when he drove onto South Huntington Street from McClure Gas Station. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:52 p.m. Thursday, July 2, North Detroit Street and West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Ariel F. Werensly, 20, Sand Piper Drive, Warsaw, and Earl L. Helm, 50, North Deer Run, Warsaw. Werensly was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Werensly’s vehicle struck the back of the Helm vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, Lake City Highway, east of Silveus Crossing, Warsaw. Drivers: David A. Alderfer, 57, South SR 19, Mentone, and Adam R. Fischer, 32, Avalon Way, Fort Wayne. Mara Fischer, 12, Avalon Way, Fort Wayne, a passenger in Adam Fischer’s vehicle, complained of pain to the leg, but refused medical treatment at the scene. Alderfer’s vehicle sideswiped the Fisher vehicle while changing lanes. Damage up to $10,000.
2:21 p.m. Thursday, July 2, Lake City Highway, east of Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers; Laura N. Cook, 40, Lake City Highway, Warsaw, and Kenneth A. Larsen, 56, Miller Drive, McHenry, Ill. Cook was cited for no operator’s license and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Injured: Angel Schoetzow, 11, Lake City Highway, Warsaw, with a contusion/bruise to the head and John A. Schoetzow, 47, Lake City Highway, Warsaw, with a contusion bruise to the face. Both were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. The transmission slipped in Cook’s vehicle as she was crossing Lake City Highway, traveling into the path of the Larsen vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
9:45 a.m. Thursday, July 2, Glad Street, Warsaw. Teresa Burleson-Olds, 45, SR 10, Argos. Burleson-Olds backed her vehicle from a driveway, failing to see a parked vehicle registered to Cardinal Services, Bay Circle Drive, Warsaw. Damage up to $1,000.
