UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit On Main Street, Syracuse
UPDATE: Janet S. Runyon, 61, East Union Street, Ligonier, complained of pain to the back, after she was struck by a vehicle in Syracuse. The accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. at 105 W. Main St., Syracuse. Police report Runyon did not cross the street in a designated cross walk.
Janet L. Borg, 50, East CR 1000N, Syracuse, told police she was traveling west on Main Street and had just gone through the intersection at West Main and North Huntington streets. Borg stated the pedestrian walked out in front of her vehicle and she could not avoid the accident.
Witnesses told police they saw Runyon walk out of a store and start walking across Main Street when she was hit.
Runyon was taken to IU Health Goshen by Turkey Creek/Syracuse Paramedics.
Damage to Borg’s vehicle was estimated up to $5,000.

The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 30.
According to information at the scene the driver of a vehicle did not see the female pedestrian crossing the street, causing the accident.
