UPDATE: Motorcycle Accident Near Warsaw Steak And Shake
UPDATE: A motorcycle driver and his passenger were treated for minor cuts and bruises following a motorcycle/vehicle accident at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday, at Jalynn Street and Walton Boulevard, Warsaw.
Warsaw Police report both were wearing helmets and leather gear.
Hunter J. Newlin, 16, North Nash Dive, Syracuse, who was traveling east on Jaylnn Street, attempted to make a left turn into the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot. He stopped and proceeded to make his left turn into the path of a motorcycle driven by Mark E. Messenger, 47, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Newlin told police the sun’s glare hindered his vision, and he did not see the motorcycle.
Messenger told police once he knew the collision was going to occur, he laid down his 1995 Honda motorcycle to avoid being ejected over the bike. Both Messenger and his passenger, Deborah S. Messenger, 49, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, braced for the impact and fell from the motorcycle, just before it struck the vehicle.
Mark Messenger suffered a contusion/bruise to the lower arm. Deborah Messenger complained of pain to the head. Both refused transportation to a hospital.
Damage was estimated up to $50,000.
Emergency personnel are currently responding to a reported motorcycle accident near Steak And Shake in Warsaw.
