A Clear View Of Jupiter And Venus
Jupiter and Venus, the two brightest planets, could be clearly seen in the western sky this evening.
According to Planetsave after roughly 2,000 years the Star of Bethlehem made its return tonight. More specifically Venus and Jupiter made their tightest highly visibly conjunction in nearly two millennia.
According to James Ayre on Planetsave, the reference to the Star of Bethlehem is with regard to the fact there was a very similar tight conjunction between the two in 3-2 BC.
Numerous references to the occurrence can be found on the Internet.
Matt Rudkin, meteorologist with WSBT, stated the appearance is that of a double star and appeared about 30 degrees above the horizon. Both planets look one-third of a degree apart.
