Big Daddy Weave At Honeywell
Contemporary Christian band “Big Daddy Weave” will perform at the Honeywell Center 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 24 on the Ford Theater stage. Big Daddy Weave’s opening act will be Christian singer/songwriter Cody Collier. Collier, an Indiana native, will perform “Sing Glory” and other songs from his new album Breaking Free. Big Daddy Weave is composed of Mike Weaver (lead singer), Jay Weaver, Jeremy Redmon, Joe Shirk, and Brian Biehl. Through more than a decade of hits like “In Christ,” “Audience of One,” “You’re Worthy Of My Praise,” “Every Time I Breathe,” What Life Would Be Like,” and “You Found Me,” they have shared the journey in a way that has won the ongoing respect of fans, press and industry alike.
Big Daddy Weave’s musical journey began with a Dove Awards nomination as New Artist of the Year in 2002 and includes a 2010 Dove Award for the album Christ Has Come. They have been honored at ASCAP’s Christian Music Awards, were chosen for the WOW Hits compilations in five of the last six years and are one of the 10 most played artists at Christian radio over the past decade.
The band met while in college at the University of Mobile. Mike Weaver had been serving as worship leader of a Pensacola, Florida church and attending community college in the area. He came to the university at the urging of his pastor, and studied voice.
