Annual NappTown Hunt Down On July 4
The NappTown Hunt Down has been a popular event during Nappanee’s Fourth of July festivities. Described as a zany photo scavenger hunt where teams search Stauffer Park and the surrounding neighborhoods to find random landmarks, obscure objects and helpful strangers to perform team challenges while taking snapshots of their findings to earn points. Winning teams are awarded cash prizes.
Designed to be fun for both adults and kids, the hunt attracts teams of families or groups of friends of all ages. The event is entertaining for spectators as well who may find themselves involved in the game by helping teams complete stunts and challenges.
“Fourth of July is my favorite day to be in Nappanee! It is small town America at its best. The parade in town leads to the park where there is something happening in the park from daybreak until the big finale of fireworks inspires ‘ohhh’ and ‘ahhhs’ from around the town.” said Rocki Stillson, who organizes the scavenger hunt.
Teams need to be registered and at the stage by the pool in Nappanee’s Stauffer Park by 2:45p.m. Saturday, July 4. Each team should be made of two to seven players and must have a phone or camera to take pictures. Team transportation is by foot or bike, all tasks can be done on foot within Stauffer Park and surrounding neighborhoods. There is a $5 entry fee per team.
Pre-registration is encouraged. For more info and to register online visit www.facebook.com/TheNappTownHuntDown
