Amanda Fawn Jackson
Amanda Fawn Jackson, 33, Columbia City, passed away suddenly at 11:41 a.m. Thursday June 18, 2015, at her residence.
Born on October 23, 1981, in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of Steven and Malana (Harrison) Alvey. Amanda was a lifetime Whitley County resident. She attended Columbia City High School and graduated with the Class of 2000. She also attended IPFW in Fort Wayne, where she took early childhood courses.
Amanda was a homemaker, and on July 14, 2007, she married David Jackson in Columbia City. Amanda loved children, doing crafts with them, and babysitting for anyone. She was very proud to have recently become a foster parent, helping children in need.
Survivors include her loving husband; father: Steven (Rita Ebert) Alvey, Fort Wayne; brother: Cory (Kara) Alvey, Pierceton; grandmother: Arloa Alvey, Columbia City; step-sister: Brandy Schnelker, Fort Wayne; a niece and nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her mother Malana Alvey, paternal grandfather Donald Alvey, and maternal grandparents Cec and Midge Harrison.
A memorial service for Amanda will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday July 2 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with memorial visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m.
