Paintball Event Planned To Benefit Kos Fair
Want to shoot some paintball for a good cause? Then mark your calendar for Aug. 1.
Kosciusko County Community Fair board has put together an all-day paintball event to help raise money for renovations at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. The event will have both traditional player vs. player competitions as well as an arcade-style shootout.
For the PVP competitions, teams are welcome to signup. Individual players will be placed on teams for the competition.
Those who are looking for the fun of firing some paint but may have some anxiety about taking a hit, fear not. Organizers have set up an arcade area, complete with junked cars, old port-a-pods, barricades and even live targets.
“You can shoot at people and not worry about getting shot back,” says Tony Zimmerman, Kosciusko Community Fair board president and organizer of the event. If you enjoy the zombie hunt planned for K-County Music Fest, the arcade is for you.
Ballers are welcome to bring their own equipment. Rentals and paintballs will also be available for a nominal fee. Keep in mind, proceeds will help make the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds ADA-compliant.
“We are a non-for-profit,” explains Zimmerman. “We’re a private entity. That’s why we’re trying to raise the funds. I’m trying to give the people something for their money.”
Admission is $20 for a day. Rental guns are $10 per two hours of use plus 200 paintballs. For trigger-happy ballers, additional ammo will also be available for purchase. Cost for ammunition is $3 for 100 balls, $15 for 500 balls, $25 for 1,000 balls and a mere $35 for a full case of 2,000 balls. There is a $5 fee to run the arcade.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.
