Get The Facts At Community Series
Editor:
A lot of ink is given to opinions, politics, offenses, and general community activities. But recently, I have had the privilege of gleaning facts about the juvenile justice system, school statistics and school construction facts from the leading experts in their field, Superior Court Judge David Cates and school superintendent, Dr. Tom Edington.
They were featured at the last two community series programs hosted at Calvary United Methodist Church, 810 S. Huntington St., Syracuse.
This upcoming Wednesday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. you can hear Dr. Larry Allen, chief medical officer IU Health Goshen, speak about the future of health care. This is not about the politics of the AFC act, but facts concerning how patients, health providers, insurance and government work together to bring down costs in such a way that everyone wins.
Not only will attendees get to ask follow-up questions but, in the one-half hour following the presentation a chance to speak one on one with Allen in the fellowship hall.
Also, in the fellowship hall there will be many community based organizations in which you can speak with representatives directly. I have been able to speak to representatives from, Destiny Rescue, habitat, parks, trails, food pantry, teen parent, Alzheimer’s, Bashor Home, conservancy, police and fire department representatives and glean facts about these organizations.
So, if you want facts and information set some time aside for an enjoyable evening. I truly believe you will be amazed not only with what you can learn but, how you can be part of the greater Community of Northern Indiana.
