Kids All American Fishing Derby A Success

On May 30Â area kids, aging from 3 to 16, casted their reels and spent time with family at the Kids All American Fishing Derby. The derby, hosted by the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department at Center Lake, featured free fishing, fun contests and prize drawings. Every child in attendance received a goody bag filled with souvenirs to take home.
Edward Jay Kindig won first place for Biggest Fish for the 4 and Under category. Becca Kindig placed second. Augustin Goble placed third. Mylee Stollar won first place for Biggest Fish for the 5-8 age category. Madison Wobrock placed second. Gage Ring placed third. Allison Gonzalez won first place for Biggest Fish for the 9-12 age category. Coleton Taylor placed second. Nick Ransbottom placed third. Zack Herbster won first place for Biggest Fish for the 13-16 category. Tylene Wadkins placed second.
Casting Contest winners were also awarded certificates and prizes for their display of casting skill. First place in the Casting Contest was Jeremiah Stollar. Second place was Tylene Wadkinds. Third place was Allison Gonzalez.
Our grand prize winner was Zack Herbster, 14, with the biggest fish overall – a 6 pound, 8 ounce Carp.
