Edgel Rabon ‘Ray’ Ousley
Edgel Rabon “Ray” Ousley, 75 of Mentone, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015, in Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis.
On Oct. 27, 1939, he was born in Risner, Ky., to James and Nancy (Pitts) Ousley.
He was united in marriage to Sandra K. Palmer on May 21, 1990, in Sevierville, Tenn., who survives.
Edgel proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1958–1960. He retired from Zimmer in 1995, after serving 21 years as an inspector.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra Ousley, Mentone; two daughters: Nancy (and spouse Jeff) Gordon, Rochester; and Tammy (and spouse Sean) O’Connor, Mentone; one son: Tony (and spouse Nikki) Palmer, Warsaw; nine grandchildren, Brittany (and spouse Kyle) Marocco, Warsaw; Emily Gordon and fiancée Kyle Dell, Rochester; Zachary Gordon, Rochester; Ryan Baldwin, Warsaw; Chelsea Baldwin, Mentone; Paige (and spouse Dustin) Scharf, Warsaw; Tabi Baldwin, Mentone; Danyelle Palmer, Winona Lake ;and Tyler Palmer, Etna Green; three great-grandchildren: Hayden Marocco, Hayleigh Baldwin and Emily Baldwin; one brother: Gardis (and spouse Maudie) Ousley, Prestonsburg, Ky.; and one sister: Evie Thornsbury, Martin, Ky.
Edgel was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and four brothers: Adam Ousley, Vernon Ousley, Claude Ousley and James “Elva” Ousley.
Visitation hours will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Rev. Sam Carns officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 49 and VFW Post No. 1126, Warsaw.
