Kathryn A. ‘Kate’ Roth
Kathryn A. “Kate” Roth, 90, of Merrillville, formerly of Wabash, died at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Merrillville.
She was born July 12, 1924 in Wabash, to James and Eva (Courter) Barrus.
Kate married Richard S. ‘Dick” Roth in Wabash on Feb. 8, 1946; he died Aug.10, 2009.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wabash American Legion Auxiliary since 1951. Kate enjoyed doing crafts, going to flea markets, the outdoors, and playing Bingo. She lived most of her life in Wabash County.
She is survived by two children: Butch (Diane) Roth of Marion, and Connie (Larry) Bauldridge of Merrillville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Lewen of Blaine, Minnesota, Steven (Mandy) Roth of Wabash, Brian (Cindy) Medley of West Lafayette, Kelley (Allan) Thomas of Gary, and Jody (James) Cabble of Lexington, Ky.; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Mendenhall of Fort Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash., where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is Macular Degeneration Association or the Wounded Warior Project.
