Milford Fest Kicks Off

Members of the Kiwanis, Virgil Zimmerman and Doug McDonald, help hand out food during this morning’s Kiwanis Pancake and Sausage Breakfast.
The 2015 Milford Fest has begun. The Kiwanis started the day with their pancake and sausage breakfast. The breakfast is planned to last until 11 a.m.
Many events are scheduled to last throughout the day. Most of the community wide garage sales started at 8 a.m. this morning. A map of garage sale is available in the Milford Community Building listing 37 different sales throughout the neighborhood.
Starting at 9 a.m. is registration for the car/tractor/motorcycle show and the Friends of the Library Book Sale.
Most craft and food vendors will open their booths at 10 a.m. The Car Smash, which is provided by Stuckman’s Salvage & Glen’s Wrecker, also starts at 10 a.m.
The free carnival rides and pony rides will start at 11 a.m. Children can enjoy the pony rides until 2 p.m. and the carnival rides until 9 p.m.
Hungry guests can look forward to the Fire Station’s famous ribeye steak sandwiches starting at 11 a.m. and the Milford Lions hamburgers and sausage burgers starting at 4 p.m.
Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the day starting with the Cutie King/Queen and Prince/Princess contest at 10 a.m. The Senior King/Queen will be announced at 1:30 p.m.
This year the Milford Talent Showcase will begin at 3:00 p.m. Participants should be prepared to check in at 2:30 p.m.
Milford is already a buzz with excitement and the fun will only continue to grow as the day goes on.
