Irma Elizabeth Crilow
Irma Elizabeth Crilow, 98, Wakarusa, formerly of Goshen, died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Goshen, Elkhart County, to Oscar and Mabel (Martin) Blosser. She married Melvin G. Crilow on Sept. 24, 1938, in Goshen and he died Dec. 18, 2004.
Before Irma and her husband moved to Assisted Living at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, in 2004, they received much enjoyment gardening and sharing the abundance with others. They also volunteered for several years at the Whistle Stop in Goshen. Irma was a homemaker. She corresponded with family and friends and faithfully updated family genealogy records over the years. She graduated from Wakarusa High School, in 1935, with perfect attendance. She was a member of the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
Surviving are daughters: Shirley (Leonard) Albrecht, Goshen; Dorothy Shreck, New Paris; sons: Ernest Crilow, Wakarusa; Larry (Kim) Crilow, Goshen; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren; brother: Gerald Blosser, Nappanee; sisters-in-law: Ruth Blosser, Goshen; Ida (Crilow) Miller, Walnut Creek, Ohio; brother-in-law: Dale Gongwer, Goshen;.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; sister: Verna Gongwer; brother: Kenneth and Lavon Blosser; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Blosser; and Mary Ellen Blosser; daughter-in-law: Sandy Crilow; and son-in-law: Ray Schreck.
Visitation will be 4 p.m until 7 p.m. Monday, May 18, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service, Tuesday, May 19, all at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate and burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
