Dale Allen Marks
Dale Allen Marks, 72, of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in his home surrounded by family.
Dale was born on March 31, 1943, the son of the late Glen and Dorothy (Barret) Marks. On June 25, 1996, he married Lyla Holderman.
Dale was a carpenter by trade and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 413. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trips to Canada and holding his grandbabies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed. As per his wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
“Today I lost one of the greatest men in my life. My stepdad, Dale, passed away in his sleep today. He will be greatly missed by many, but most of all by his kids who thought the world of him. He was always there for us when we needed him. He was a very loving grandpa to his grandkids. He loved having them around to hold and cuddle. One of his favorite things was sharing a popsicle with Liam. Liam was one lucky little boy to have him for the short time he did. And me and my siblings were extremely lucky and proud to be able to call him our Dad. I will miss you more than you know … I love you very much! Your fight is finally over … rest peacefully now. We will see you again!”
Dale is survived by his loving wife: Lyla; seven children: Gina Marks, Nappanee; Keith (Deana) Marks, Newcastle; Teresa Marks, Bremen; Tony Borton, Walkerton; Pam Fox, Mishawaka; Kim McCallum, Bourbon; Brian Mason, South Bend; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister: Marie (Dale) Holderman, Bremen; and a brother: Lyle (Sue) Marks, South Bend.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Nelson Marks.
