Positive comments have been coming in for the book club selection “Too Close to the Falls.” This biography reads more like a work of fiction and is certainly entertaining. ‘One Book, One Hour’ meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. Join the book clubs for lively discussions.
Save the Dates
‘Art at the Syracuse Library’ is a series of events highlighting art in the community. A free speaker event about historical painters in Syracuse will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 18. Families of local artists will talk about their art and show a variety of the works that have preserved a visual record of Indiana.
The date is set for the silent art auction that is a Friends of the Library fundraiser and evening out event. The Friends are selling original oil and reproduction art that was acquired by the Syracuse Library in 1980. Bids will be accepted from Tuesday, May 26 until the final event on Friday, June 19.

Saturday, May 16, is the last Saturday that the library will remain open until 5 p.m. The board of directors has authorized a change of hours beginning Monday, May 18, with longer hours, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursdays, and a shortened day, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays.
