Robert Harvey Oliver
Robert Harvey Oliver, 94, lifelong resident of Noble County, died at 5:17 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 23, 1920, near Albion in Noble County, a son of Reuben H. and Maude M. (McCamment) Oliver. He graduated from Cromwell High School.
On Sept. 6, 1944, he was inducted in the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged April 19, 1946.
Following his discharge, he went into the building trade for 38 years. After his retirement in 1985, he began making yard ornaments.
In 1965 he married Fanny Louise Piper. Mrs. Oliver died Sept. 3, 1987.
Surviving relatives include three children: Brenda Smith, Silver Lake; Richard Oliver, Cromwell; and Robert Oliver, Noblesville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Four sisters: Dorothea Oliver, Evelyn Scott, Rolena Collinsworth and Helen Wolf preceded him in death.
The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Wolf Lake Cemetery with military honors presented. There will be no public visitation.
