Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:03 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, West CR 400N, west of North CR 500W, Warsaw. Driver: Blake E. Johnson, 18, West CR 225N, Etna Green. Johnson looked down at a radio, disregarded a stop sign and hit a mailbox, owned by Troy A. McKinney, and tree. Damage up to $10,000.
6:20 p.m. Wednesday April 15, North CR 450E, north of East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher T. Checketts, 24, North Lincoln Park, Warsaw. Swerved to miss a large dog, lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle went off the roadway hitting several trees before spinning and coming to stop on the roadway in the opposite direction. Damage up to $10,000.
8:54 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, West SR 25 and South CR 1000W, Mentone. Driver: Michael A. Heady, 33, South Woodland Hills Drive, Warsaw. A vehicle had stopped in front of him abruptly. He went off the road hitting a utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.
6:11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, North SR 19 and West Hepton Road, Warsaw. Driver: Nevada S. Elliott, 35, West Pook Road, South Whitley. Elliott believes she fell asleep causing her vehicle to go off the road and hitting a telephone pole owned by Frontier Communications. Damage up to $10,000.
5:17 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, West US 30, north CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Barbara L. Dunbar, 62, East CR 500N, Grovertown, and Taylor L. Whitaker, 40, North SR 15, Warsaw. Dunbar turned in front of the Whitaker vehicle. Dunbar complained of back pain, Whitaker complained of pain to the chest. Both were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damage $10,000
3:30 a.m. Tuesday April 14, North SR 13, south East of East CR 800N, North Webster. Driver: Lisa M. Tampir, 41, North CR 900E, North Webster. Hit Deer. Damage up to $10,000
3:15 p.m. Monday, April 13, North CR 500E, north of East CR 650N, North Webster. Driver: Brooke S. Kelly, 24, Lura Circle, Milford. Kelly suffered a fracture/dislocation to the knee/lower leg. For an unknown reason Kelly’s vehicle went off the east side of the road hitting a large tree and stopping in a water filled ditch. She was extricated by North Webster Fire Department and airlifted for medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
8:47 p.m. Wednesday April 15, North Detroit Street and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer L. Adair, 37, Anchorage Road, Warsaw, and Erin L. Allen, 19, South SR 15, Silver Lake. Adair turned right on red in front of the Allen vehicle, which had the green turn arrow. Adair was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Damage up to $10,000.
2:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, West Prairie Street and South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicholas R. Colquitt, 16, EMS T26B Lane, Leesburg, and Christy L. Gano, 35, West CR 1300S, Silver Lake. Gano complained of pain to the neck and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Colquitt’s vehicle struck the back of the Gano vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
