Bourbon Police Announce March Operation Pull Over Results

During the month of March the Bourbon Police Department worked 10 hours of Operation Pull Over funded patrols. These patrols serve to reinforce the message to motorists to obey seat belt and child restraint laws as well as other traffic laws for their own safety; or expect to be ticketed.
During these patrols, officers wrote a total of 13 citations and 24 warnings. Of the citations three were for seat belt violations. The other citations were for offenses including driving while suspended, speeding and other moving violations.
Others were arrested for drunk driving, possession of marijuana and minor in possession of alcohol.
The Bourbon Police Department had six vehicle accidents this quarter with only one resulting in a minor injury. The police department appreciates all the public does to drive safely.
Operation Pull Over is a traffic safety grant program funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
