NCAA Bracket On JW Marriott In Indy Sets World Record
As the excitement surrounding the NCAA Final Four tournament in Indianapolis this weekend builds, a new milestone is being celebrated.
A giant bracket on the side of the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis has officially made the Guinness Book of World Records. An adjudicator confirmed that it is the largest sports tournament bracket details this week.
At 44,000 square feet, the bracket is the same size as nine basketball courts and weighs about two tons, or as much as a car. It’s 165 feet tall and took 12 days to build and attach to the east side of the building.
Designed and built by Sports Graphics, the bracket has been updated each week with the results of the games, all the way to the final this weekend.
“Indianapolis has a great history of hosting the NCAA Final Four and providing a one-of-a-kind championship experience for college athletes,” stated JoAn Scott, NCAA managing director of men’s basketball championships. “We want to get everyone excited for the Final Four and what better way to do this than by putting a larger-than-life bracket on display in the city.”
