Irvin A. Jylland
Irvin A. Jylland, 75, of Rochester, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Irvin was born in Rochester, Minn. on July 12, 1939, to Chester and Hazel Walker Jylland.
Irvin worked at Winamac Spring and Coil until becoming disabled. To relax he enjoyed going to the truck stop for a cup of coffee and catching up on the latest news. Known as “Mr. Fix-It”, he was often found working on lawnmowers and sweepers.
Irvin and Patsy Struble Jacobs were married on Jan. 28, 2000, in Rochester at the Grace United Methodist Church. She passed away on August 21, 2014.
Irv is survived by two daughters: Mary Hamric, Fort Wayne: Jerri Miller, Tishamingo, Miss.; a son: Carl Jylland, Fla.; step daughters: Sevilla Rhoades, Plymouth; Sandra Stephens-Miller, Indianapolis; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and his canine companion: Nicole.
Preceding Irv in death are his parents, wife, a daughter: Kathern M. Padgett; a son: Irvin Jylland Jr. and a sister.
Services will be announced at a later date.
