Gilbert F. Harshbarger
Gilbert F. Harshbarger, 93, of Warsaw, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at Lake City Place, Warsaw.
He was born on March 8, 1922, to Lee and Ethel (Hill) Harshbarger in Claypool.
On June 6, 1941, he married Viora N. Zuver in Hammond. He graduated from Hammond High School, Hammond. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. He held the rank of Sargent. He was a signal maintainer for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He retired in 1982 after 42 years.
He is survived by his wife: Viora Harshbager, Warsaw; a daughter: Susan M. (Ronald) Kostrzeba, Valparaiso; a son: Mark (Kathy) Harshbarger; grandchildren: James Yocum, Dr. Kenin Krieger (Alan Rosolowski); Kerisa Kostrzeba; Jeremy Kostrzeba; Terri Verbeeren; Kimberly A. Copeland; Doug (Jodi) Harshbarger; Kerry (Bruce) Johnson; and Shelly (Andy) Knepp; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Harshbarger.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to the service at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Reverend Michael Mueller will be the officiant.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
