Charles W. Leslie
Charles W. Leslie 91 of Kimmel, joined his heavenly father on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was born on Dec. 21, 1923, in Ligonier, to Glen and Rose (Beal) Leslie. He married Betty J. Reece on June 22, 1946.
Charles retired after 21 years of service driving a semi-truck for Perfection Biscuit Company in Fort Wayne. He was also engaged in farming. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Betty enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends, collecting toy tractors and oil cans, and going to auctions.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years: Betty Leslie; a son: John (Norma) Leslie, Michigan; a Daughter: Ramona (Joe) Myers, Columbia City; 4 grandchildren: Jason (Annette) Arnold, South Whitley; Stephanie (Johnathan) Berkowitz, California; Renee (Scott) Workman, Warsaw; and Angie (George) Smith, Warsaw; Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Alice Feece, Lakeville; and Jean Poyser, Columbia City.
Preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; and 4 sisters.
There will be a funeral service in Mr. Leslie’s honor at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, with visitation one hour prior at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Celebrant Larry Baker Officiating. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmel.
A time of visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Heartland Hospice.
