Phillip I. Woodke
Phillip I. Woodke, Plymouth, passed away at 3:27 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Phil was born on in Lake County to Fred and Lillian (Adams) Woodke. Phil married the former Rose Malast, on March 18, 1961, in Gary. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a mechanic. Phil retired from U.S. Steel in the sheet and tin division. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Phil is survived by his wife: Rose Woodke; their son: Bret (Dianne) Woodke, Naples, Fla.; his two brothers: Harold Woodke, Ore.; and Jim Woodke, Colo.; his sisters: Betty Doshan, Crown Point; Joan Gilliam, Ore.; and Joyce Yates, Colo. He was preceded in passing by his two sons: Bryon Woodke and Bart Woodke.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Van Gilder Funeral Home, located at 300 W. Madison Street, Plymouth. Services, officiated by Reverand Dr. E. Dean Fager, will begin immediately after. The burial will be a private family service.
Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana, The Salvation Arm-ARC, or Ancilla College.
