Mary E. Tucker Bucher
Mary E. Tucker Bucher, 98, of Mentone, died at 11:55 a.m. Monday, March 23, and Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake.
Mary was born on Oct. 28, 1916, in Claypool, to Cloyce and Roxie (Parker) Miller. She was married on June 9, 1937 to Edison C. Tucker, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1969. Mary then married C. Edward Bucher on Jan. 5, 1985. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1998.
She worked at Tippecanoe Valley High School in the cafeteria as well as being a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. Mary graduated Claypool High School in 1934. She was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mary was a great cook and enjoyed knitting. She also loved to watch her family in all their sports activities, especially basketball.
Mary is survived by her daughter: JoAnn (Mike) Williams, Atwood; grandchildren: Kim Nelson, Plymouth; Chad (Lisa) Tucker, Mentone; Stephanie (Scott) Bibler, Claypool; Chan (Nicole) Tucker, Mentone; Tara (Hunter) Carlile, Winona Lake; and Cheri (Andy) Mikesell, Zionsville; 15 great grandchildren; step sons: Chuck (Helen) Bucher; Phillip (Jeanne) Bucher; and Paul (Pat) Bucher, and their families.
Mary is Preceded in death by husbands: Edison C. Tucker; and C. Edward Bucher; Son and daughter-in-law: Charles M. and Cara L. Tucker; sister and brother-in-law: Maxine and Joe Ault; and grandson: Brian D. Nelson.
Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at King Memorial Home, located at 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, also at King Memorial Home, officiated by Pastor Butch Troke and Pastor Lynn Breeden. Burial will be at the Mentone Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.
